Mary Poppins' first day
So Mary Poppins is what the guys who live on the floor below us have dubbed me since my first day as a nanny. They're fun guys and it's great to have "friends" in the building. They had us over for dinner the other night and we promised to return the favor. Funny thing is that of the three guys, one is from Seattle (and graduated from Western Washington University Tim and Meg!) one is from Montana and only one is actually from the east coast! So that's fun.
But getting back to the nannying...I'll have to update after my first real day tomorrow. But for today I drove all around town with Addie (the mom) and saw all the places I'll be driving to everyday. One odd part of the day that kind of solidified the hugeness of this job is when Addie turned to me during a drive and said, "Starting tomorrow, you're going to see my kids more than I do." Wow. Weird, eh? It makes me feel funny but also really good about how much I'm going to be able to be involved in these kids lives. I can't wait to have these "little sisters" in my life. I hope I'll be able to connect and bond with them and make a positive impact on them.
Oh, and the family is seriously thinking about getting a dog - so I'll be with Dakota at home and then I'll deal with another dog at work! I don't mind, though. I love dogs and I think it will be great to see the girls learn to take care of a dog.
Matt starts classes tomorrow which he is really excited about too. We'll let you know how that goes.
Welp...guess that's all for now. Take care...
