The first leg
The first leg of our journey actually didn't include us. Matt's parents came down to Newberg with a trailer and loaded up all our stuff and took it to Idaho. We're hoping that what happened on their way home was not an omen for the rest of our trip. Apparently one of the tires on the trailer blew out close to Hermiston, OR. Nothing was open because it was Memorial day, and AAA wouldn't cover it because it was on the trailer. Eventually they were able to upgrade their membership to include the trailer and they found a Wal-Mart where they bought two new tires. We will try to update with pictures of the trailer soon.

A New Addition!
WE GOT A DOG! A puppy, actually. She is a lab/border collie mix and she is the most perfect adorable animal EVER. We are in love. I will post some photos of her.

Neighborhoods in Worcester
As Matt and I continue to try to find an apartment in Worcester we find the neighborhood to be one of the most difficult parts. We were warned once that the neighborhoods around WPI (matt's school) are very varied and it is impossible to know without seeing the neighborhood if it's the kind you'd want to live in.
Well, today Matt got a great quote that is both humorous and frightening about that lovely little moving difficulty. I just had to share it:
"...you have to be careful in some areas [of Worcester]. For example: Elm park is lovely, within 1 mile you can dine at a *5 star restaurant, attend a leading college, view mansions in the salsibury area, or get mugged, your car stolen, or buy crack from someone who can't even speak English. "
Fun, huh? So that's also to say any prayers about us finding a neighborhood to live in that is both nice and also not, uh, dangerous are greatly appreciated! :)
More to come as more happens...
